Reopening information

We’re ready to welcome you back

We can’t wait to welcome you back to our venues, which we are able to safely do at reduced capacities and within a concentrated number of our spaces.

To help plan for your visit we have provided more information about our reopening below.

There’ll be more remote working for us than is usual but our commitment to our customers remains unwavering. Our team statement can be read here.

Updates from the University of Leeds will continue to be published through coronavirus.leeds.ac.uk and our specific messages will be here on this page.

Pre-arrival information – what to expect from us

Here at MEETinLEEDS the safety and comfort of our customers is at the heart of our planning.

As we re-open our doors we wanted to share some of the behind-the-scenes work we have been doing to ensure a safe and responsible return to our venues. There are a few things we want to share with you in anticipation of your visit to site, as things will look a little different.

  • Our venues will have:
    • Full building risk assessments and a pre-entry checklist completed.
    • A full thorough clean and safety check, with an ongoing high-level and thorough cleaning regime in place.
    • Track and Trace.
    • One way systems in busy areas and new rules in place in lifts, toilets and communal areas to help us all keep our distance.
    • Revised meeting room capacities based on the prevailing social distancing requirements.
  • Cleaning and sanitisation is paramount and you can expect:
    • Increased cleaning activity on site and increased cleaning in high-traffic areas and frequent touch points.
    • Provision of hand sanitisers, soap and paper towels.
    • Reduced touch points in meeting rooms, bedrooms and communal areas.
  • Our accommodation will have:
    • Screen guards, and we are working towards a contactless check-in.
    • Revised housekeeping service to support the new regimes.
    • Reducing touch points and replacing items with sustainably sourced, disposable alternatives.
  • In catering services you can expect:
    • Servery points equipped with screen guards.
    • Grab-and-Go offers and a focus on take away options.
    • Reduced seating to promote social distancing.
  • Our team are here for you and we will have:
    • Completed training to understand our personal responsibilities in keeping ourselves and our customer’s safe while on site.
    • Modified our protocols and processes to ensure dynamic changes, as guidance changes.

Visitor guidance – what can you do to help?

We look forward to welcoming you to our campus.

It goes without saying that our planning recognises that there might be further measures introduced, or further relaxation of existing restrictions; our practices will therefore need to be agile and, most importantly our communications with you will be clear and timely.

  • Observe social distancing at 2m.
  • Wear masks in public areas such as reception, corridors and toilets.
  • Regularly wash hands and use hand sanitisers provided.
  • Please sign in on arrival and departure and comply with track and trace requirements.
  • Follow the one-way systems.
  • Give way to people exiting rooms and the building/coming down the stairs.
  • Limit personal possessions as we cannot store luggage.
  • If you feel unwell, stay safe by staying at home.
