MEETin… Hollywood!
Hollywood came to the University of Leeds today when a film crew arrived to shoot scenes around the Great Hall for a new feature film – Hunter’s Prayer.
The Great Hall Porter’s Lodge was filmed under the guise of a Swiss police station, whilst Devonshire Hall was used as a location for a Swiss boarding school.
The film, an adaptation of the Kevin Wignall novel ‘For the Dogs’, tells the story of a solitary assassin who agrees to help a young college girl exact revenge on those who killed her parents. The Great Hall Porter’s Lodge was filmed under the guise of a Swiss police station, whilst Devonshire Hall was used as a location for a Swiss boarding school.
“The filming was facilitated by the MEETinLEEDS office who worked with teams from across the University to ensure disruption was kept to a minimum and that the filming all ran smoothly,” says Harriet Boatwright, Sales & Marketing Manager, MEETinLEEDS. “The University of Leeds, however not explicitly mentioned, will now well and truly be placed on the world stage.”
It’s expected that Hunter’s Prayer, which stars Sam Worthington of Avatar fame and is being directed by Terminator 3’s John Mostow, is due to be released in Spring 2017.
