Holding out for a Healthy Week Hero!
Healthy Week is here again from Monday 4th June, with awesome events every day of the week. Get involved!
After the success of last year’s first ever Healthy Week, it’s happening all over again!
There are lots of exciting activities to do – as long as you are a University of Leeds staff member. Apologies to the rest of our readers, but you can remedy that by next year – have a look at our current vacancies!
So join us and become a Healthy Week Hero, encouraging your friends and colleagues to make some small changes to their working day like taking lunch away from their desk or trying a new activity. You could even organise a Healthy Breakfast for your office or get everyone to try a campus walk.
There are over 90 activities organised for staff healthy week, so check out the programme below and pick something different to do this year, but be quick because some events are already fully booked! Make sure you take advantage of fantastic fitness suite at The Edge for just £1 all week – just remember your staff card.
We can’t wait to see what different departments, services and teams get up, so be sure to share your photos using #HealthyWeekHero on social media and tag @UniLeedsStaff to enter the competition. You could win a Fitbit Flex 2, or £50 Ticketmaster, Waterstones or Trinity Leeds vouchers.
From outdoor yoga and rooftop gardening in the sunshine, to a slimming support group and mindfulness café (with an Origami turtle in-between!), there is something for everyone regardless of fitness or ability, and best of all most of them are free or for charity!
We have cherry-picked our highlights for you below, so join in the fun and become a #HealthyWeekHero!
Leave Clark Kent and Diana Prince in the office and join us for a easy campus walk. Wear a cape, mask or super hero pants and donate £1 to Candlelighters, a local charity supporting the families of children with cancer.
Time: 12:00 – 12:35
