The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation’s mission is to make kindness the norm in schools, workplaces, homes & communities. This Saturday they are celebrating World Kindness Day.
We wanted to take the opportunity to give a shout out to some of the amazingly kind people we are lucky enough to call our colleagues. You’ll often see the MEETinLEEDS team appear on our blog however, there are lots of special people behind the scenes supporting us and always bringing random acts of kindness that brighten our days!
We found this quote on The Random Acts of Kindness website and we think it perfectly sums up why the following people deserve a special shout out.
“Kindness is doing what you can, where you are, with what you have”
First up we have Vicki, or “Our Vicks” is how most of us refer to her. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Vicki, she is always there with a helping hand! She is the ‘go to’ person in our office and a fountain of knowledge! From fixing our Excel spreadsheets, to managing our annual charity collections and decorating our birthday cakes in the most hilarious way! It’s great to be able to give ‘Our Vicks’ this shout out, we don’t know how we would manage without her!
The Cloth Hall Court Operational Team
Carole, Josh and Paul form part of the amazing team based in Cloth Hall Court. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they always go out of their way to ensure everyone has the best experience with a personable touch, all with a massive smile on their face. They are a pleasure to work with and we would like to acknowledge their flexibility, open mindedness, attention to detail and kindness with clients and each other. And if you don’t believe us then take a look at this note sent from a recent client.
‘Your staff were unfailingly kind and helpful and this made my stay in Leeds very pleasant’
Our star baker Patrick! If you hear Patrick’s voice you’ll notice how fast everyone gets up from their desks. This is because 9 times out of 10 he will have a big tub of delicious baked goods for us. His rocky road is to die for! We’ve already had our 1st mince pie of the year – Patrick saw to that. We love him – even if he makes it incredibly hard to stick to our diets!
The University Chaplaincy Team
The University’s Chaplaincy team are so kind to all of us at MEETinLEEDS. Sam & Farhat regularly drop in to the office just to see how we are doing. They often bring us little notes of kindness and sweet treats too! Farhat has also been known to bring homemade onion bhajis to die for!
The University’s Chaplaincy team are always spreading love, joy and kindness and their services are available to anyone at the University who would like to drop in. You’ll find more information on their website.
Boss, friend, leader and general powerhouse. We are very often humbled by your kindness and although not one for the spotlight it would have been remis of us to forgo the opportunity to say ‘thank you’
